Doctor Appointment

Went to KC for an appointment yesterday afternoon. Had blood work done, then a scan to measure the thickness of the uterus lining. Everything looks "textbook". We confirmed plans for Tuesday, that we want both embryos transferred, and picked up more meds.

Here is a rundown of what we learned. They will start the thaw process around 7 am Tuesday morning. I guess when the embryos were frozen they somehow dehydrated (or maybe they get dehydrated as they freeze?). So as they thaw, they put them in various chemicals for a certain amount of time and watch for them to start hydrating, which is a way they tell if they are viable. Some will just disintegrate. They'll call us around 10:30 am to let us know if there will be a transfer (if at least 1 embryo thawed ok). We'll go in, probably around lunch time, and they'll transfer any that survived the thaw.

The nurse said they have had great thaw rate success this year, over 50%.

Tomorrow starts the progesterone. More new meds follow this weekend.

I have been feeling ok. Had a very tired week last week; ended up going to bed around 9:30 and sleeping until 7 am. Laid on the couch most of Saturday. We golfed on Thursday and my body told me it wasn't a good idea; I felt like I did 500 sit ups in a row afterwards. So I'm done for a few weeks!
