Uggghhh

I'm hanging in there. Getting a little uncomfortable with cramping and aching in the abdomin/ovary areas. Which is good news! Right now it's uncomfortable to walk, sit, and lay down! My belly is a little bloated and luckily I went and bought some "fat" pants and shirts last week that are stretchy and loose fitting. Those are coming in handy this week because my normal pants aren't fitting.

I definitely can't do much physical activity and even walking up the stairs gets me out of breath and hurting. I have to take things slow, which is not my normal speed! Last night I folded a few clothes and had to stop and lay down. I laid down around 8:30 and was asleep soon after. I have a lot of projects I want to work on but I don't have the energy to go start!

I am excited to go tomorrow to get my first scan and see how many follicles have grown. I should learn tomorrow about follow up appointments next week and if we need to adjust the Gonal F doses.

Sometime next week I'll have to do a shot of Ovidrel which is a shot to trigger the eggs to mature for retrieval. Retrieval is about 36 hours after the shot. It's side effects are bloating, headaches, nausea, constipation, irritation at injection site. I thought this was a long needle, but just read that it is a subcutaneous injection, which means my friendly small needles that I am used to. Yay!

I'll start taking Progesterone in oil next week at some point, I think after retrieval. It involves long needles, given in the butt. I am dreading these shots! The bottle came with syringes, long needles, gauze and alcohol wipes. I don't even want to think about why I'll have to use the gauze!! The Progesterone is a naturally occurring hormone that enriches the uterine lining to help embryos stick and stay put. Possible side effects include cramping, constipation, diarrhea, nausea, headaches, tenderness, joint pain, drowsiness, nervousness, increased urination at night.
